Lake Palace Hotel

History:

Grand Laxmi Vilas Palace

Located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur - Grand Laxmi Vilas Palace Hotel is an acclaimed Heritage Hotel which provides picturesque views of the lake, Aravalli Hills, and Sajjangarh Palace.


History:

The Palace building was originally built by Maharana Bhupal Singh in 1911, to serve as the residence of Mr. Winn Gate - an eminent political agent of that time. Later, in 1945, Mr. Gate was shifted to another place and Grand Laxmi Vilas Palace was revamped to serve as a royal guest house for dignitaries, visiting princes and British officers.

Devi Garh Fort Palace

Nestled in the Aravali hills of Rajasthan, the 18th century Devi Garh Fort Palace, in the village of Delwara marks one of the three main entrances into the valley of Udaipur. This palace was awarded to Sajja Singh, who hailed from the neighboring state of Gujarat, for his bravery and loyalty to Maharana Pratap at the battle of Haldighati (1576) against the Mughal emperor Akbar. However, the construction of the fort palace started only in 1760s, under Raghudev Singh II, with later additions being made by the rulers who followed. The palace was absorbed into the state of Rajasthan in the 1960s, and was subsequently abandoned.


Accommodation:
